It is well known throughout the industry that over 85% of home buyers and sellers
turn to the internet during their early stage research process. Therefore most real
estate agents recognize the importance of having a personal branded website. However
more and more agents are realizing that operating multiple websites not only increases
their exposure, but allows them to capture a bigger share of the internet business
that is widespread in the industry right now.
The personal website is built to brand and agency or agent. It is the opportunity
to differentiate you from the competition, with the goal of showing professionalism
and local market intelligence. A good website will help capture prospects, build
loyalty with current customers and act as a communication device between agents
and clients.
There are a number of reasons why many agents are building additional sites to augment
their principal site. Residential agents may also manage rental properties and sell
commercial properties. Depending on the size of those complementary businesses it
may make sense to create a separate site for each. An agent may also create a separate
site to promote a one-off project such as a residential subdivision or for resort
and recreational properties.
Many early stage buyers are searching online for properties, not for real estate
agents. For example, a San Francisco-based buyer might conduct an online search
for properties in the Knob Hill district of San Francisco, not for a real estate
agent in Knob Hill. In this respect, it would be a good idea to consider capturing
leads from early stage prospects by creating a separate website about the Knob Hill
district. The site should include information highlighting the interesting history
about the area, the current community and school statistics, retail outlets, local
events, demographics, etc. Also include statistics about the local real estate activity
highlighting recently sold and listed homes. Then make sure you insert prominent
links from that site to your personal site.
Regardless of your number of websites, all the information you capture at your sites
can be set up to be inputted directly into your Top Producer 7i account. You can
also set up all your appropriate automated follow up activities from your Top Producer
7i.
